Concrete Testers

Neilsens is seeking to appoint three on site Concrete Testers for our NATA Accredited Laboratory located at Carole Park.

The successful applicant will have impeccable customer focus,be highly motivated and enthusiastic as well as be risk aware and safety driven. 

This is a full-time role Monday to Saturday with overtime according to Neilsens needs.

In your new role, you will:

  • Perform testing within the Laboratory
  • Carry out equipment calibrations
  • Perform field testing operations
  • Ensure Laboratory NATA requirements are maintained
  • Assist the technical team

This role is a great fit for you if you have:

  • Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques preferred, but not essential
  • Excellent Health and Safety behaviours
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills (written & verbal)
  • Physically fit
  • A current Queensland Manual driver’s license
  • Available to work weekends and regular overtime
  • Professional work ethic
  • Previous experience would be advantage
  • An ability to take ownership and manage your own area of responsibility without close supervision

Excavator / Loader Operator Beaudesert Location

Neilsens requires the services of an experienced Excavator/ Loader operator for its Hard Rock Quarry at Cryna (Beaudesert).

To be considered for this position you will have appropriate experience and be proficient in operating Excavators for Production, Loading, and Stripping, as well as operating Sales Loaders, specifically for the correct loading of road trucks in accordance with the requirements of the National Heavy Vehicle Law.

Our Front End Loaders are CAT980 or equivalent and the Excavators are 40-50t capacity. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Mobile Equipment, as well as performing the daily Operator’s checks required to ensure that the equipment is well maintained and safe to operate.

Neilsens ongoing success relies on this position being fulfilled by a competent, willing, and responsible Operator, and as such, good wages and conditions, with overtime and uniforms are provided.

Labourer / Quarry Trainee Bromelton

Neilsens Quality Gravels has a vacancy for a Labourer at its Bromelton Quarry site – and a person who is prepared to commence a career in the Quarrying Industry.

The successful Applicant must be hands-on, flexible, hard-working, and prepared to learn.

Initially, this position will require you to perform:

  • Pre-Start up checks/safe shutdown procedures on the Crushing Plant
  • Day-to-day maintenance checks on the Plant as well as greasing and shovelling work when required.
  • Assisting with Plant maintenance.
  • General site duties including cleaning up, mowing, whipper snipping, etc.

Concrete Batcher

Neilsens is seeking an experienced and professional individual to join our Concrete Team as a  Concrete Batcher.   Neilsens has  5 concrete plants sites and a Customer service centre across the Brisbane and greater region areas. Reporting to the Group Concrete Manager, you will be responsible for the allocation/batching and yard work of the concrete plant  at one of our sites.

This full time position will see you working a 5.5 day week, Monday – Friday with half a day Saturday. 

You will be rewarded with competitive hourly rates including penalty rates and allowances

The position works closely with the Customer Service Centre, Concrete Plant Operations, Logistics and the Sales Team, and is a key position within the Concrete Team. 

Key Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Provide input into the raw material requirements daily
  • Allocation of concrete trucks and batching of concrete
  • Stock management
  • Co-ordinate repair and calibration of plant equipment
  • Supervise day to day activities of a concrete plant
  • Supervise maintenance contractors 
  • Experienced in the operation of a front-end loader.
  • Experienced in the operation of a forklift.
  • Available to work Saturdays
  • Implement WHS and adhere to our SHEMS – Safety Health Environmental Management System.

Ideally, the successful candidate preferred but not essential:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role of Concrete Plant Operations
  • Be a highly motivated individual
  • Ability to work flexible hours and in various locations as required
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Sound knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint and vehicle loading weight requirements
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Intermediate Computer Skills
  • Hold a Forklift License
  • Hold a current Front-end Loader
  • Hold an unrestricted Class C License
